Irish Language and Equality

On the 10th October 2009 Michael Flanigan addressed a conference in New York on the Irish Language organised by the Irish American Unity Conference.
The talk was given on the recent high court challenge brought by Caoimhin Mac Giolla Cahain to the continued use of the Administration of Justice (Languages) (Ireland ) Act 1737.
The conference took place with the assistance of the Irish Department of New York University at the Gluckmans Ireland House in Washington Square.
